Fly Blade India
Mumbai, Pune, Shirdi
Shubham (+2), 2019
Fly blade lounges are the first of the kind 'heliport' lounges in India. The lounges were built with prefab panels owing to the emergent nature of the project. The structure and the interiors are designed in tandem with Fly blade's international brand language. While the lounge in Pune and Shirdi were identical greenfield projects, the lounge in Mumbai was built in the space under the stands of the prestigious Mahalaxmi racecourse given the dearth of helipads in Mumbai. The style chosen for the interiors was Retro futurism with some indian design motifs thrown in.
Shubham has worked on the project in the capacity of an assistant architect in a team of 3 that oversaw both design and turnkey execution for 3 lounges.
Cuba libre is a rooftop cum indoor seating bar in Pune. The theme requested by the client was that of Cuban streetscape, which we tried to incorporate by the use of graffiti, popular colonial furniture and appropriate seating configuration.
Pravesh has contributed in this project as a lead designer in a team of 4. Scope of work included everything from Conceptual design to design development to working drawings and furniture/ accessories selection.
Pravesh with his previous employer was the architect of choice for Sandhya builders, having completed over 6 projects with them. The project showcased is the lobby area of an office building of over 2M square feet. Housing various functions such as reception area, waiting lounges, mini libraries etc, the lobby was designed to greet the visitor with warmth. The material palette of wooden louvres, warm shades of colours and comfortable lounger chairs and couches provide respite from the city.
